Mr. Courtin joined the San Antonio Office of Schulman, Lopez, Hoffer & Adelstein, LLP in August 2016. Mr. Courtin is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and he counsels school and public employers on various employee issues, and defends schools and private employers against demands and litigation in employment, school law, and general civil litigation matters. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Courtin worked for another Texas education law firm’s Houston office for eight years where he litigated numerous employment, civil rights, school law, and governmental immunity matters. Mr. Courtin also previously represented plaintiffs in employment matters, clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephen Wm. Smith (Southern District of Texas, Houston Division), and worked in marketing and brand development before attending law school.

Mr. Courtin was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2006, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western, Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Courtin is a member of the State Bar of Texas Labor and Employment Law and Litigation Sections.

Mr. Courtin became Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2014.
