Lisa Nyquist

School Finance & Operations Specialist/Technical Advisor

Ms. Nyquist joined Schulman, Lopez, Hoffer & Adelstein, LLP in March 2022 as a non-attorney School Finance & Operations Specialist/Technical Advisor*. Ms. Nyquist has spent her entire career working in K-12 education and came to the firm with over 11 years of experience working in school finance, compliance, and operations.

Ms. Nyquist most recently worked for Building Hope, a national nonprofit, providing technical and operational assistance to charter schools (particularly new and small schools) and building relationships in the state with other charter school advocates. She previously served as the Assistant Director of Special Revenues & Compliance for Northside Independent School District where her team managed all fiscal compliance for special and restricted funds for the district which included over $50M in grants and nearly $25M in Medicaid reimbursements. Ms. Nyquist also worked for KIPP San Antonio Public Schools prior to its merger into KIPP Texas where she managed all grants and compliance. She started her career in Washington, DC at D.C. Public Schools as a Program Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer and went on to be a procurement Contract Specialist and eventual Fiscal Analyst for the Early Childhood team.
